We boarded the train in Munich for a 90 minute train ride to our next city, Salzburg Austria.
Hoping for better weather, it was still overcast and drizzled from time to time but by 3pm when we arrived, we folded up our umbrellas.
Our fabulous travel agent, dollie lady Laura Schy, booked us in the most charming hotel right in the center of all the activity (ie shopping!) Hotel Goldener Hirsch, a Starwood hotel. My comment to Bill upon entering our room is, "I wonder how many people walk away with the towels, trays, and other reindeer do-dads"? I for one am certainly not that kind of person, but I'll admit for those who are tempted to do so, this hotel is honey to a bee...
Here are some photos "out & about" Salzburg.

After dinner we went up to the rooftop of The Stein Hotel to have a sunset view of Salzburg.
As we headed home we passed by a building which displayed this plaque...Bill was able to translate it
and it was the home of Joseph Mohr, the author of "Silent Night".
A wonderful first day in Salzburg.
